About me

yay

me!

I’m Meaghan and I am Registered Dietitian. I most recently completed my Dietetic Internship through Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, NC. Previous to that, I completed my Masters Degree in Human Nutrition at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC. It was a long haul but one of my greatest accomplishments! Cheers to all career changers out there- it’s definitely worth it though!

I was born in Bethesda, MD and grew up in the South along side my three sibilings. My Junior year of high school,  I studied abroad in Spain. This is when mastered the Spanish language and delved into this cultural-immersion where started to fall in love with cooking, food and flavors. I completed my Undergraduate Degree at East Carolina University, where I met my Argentinian husband, who plays basketball for a living. His job has taken us to many countries and we have had many adventures. My other love is our miniature schnauzer, Emma! (We don’t let her taste-test, although she begs!)

My cooking style encompasses many ethnic groups, flavors and dietary styles. The variations mainly come from all my living experiences abroad. Having lived in several countries, each culture uniquely shaped my culinary learning. I am frequently asked what kind of dietary pattern I follow. My eating style is rich in variation and plants. I’m not vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free. But I certainly enjoy preparing and eating foods from these dietary styles. There are even some vegetarian and gluten-free-friendly recipes on the site!

Greatest weakness? Ice cream. Favorite past-time? People watching.

  1. Good luck in this new journey that you begin sweetie. I know it is going to be a successful one. You are great in the kitchen, but most importantly, what differentiates you from other people, is that your recipes express the love and passion that you have for food.

    I love you a lot.

  2. To my best friend Meglit:
I am so happy you have created this blog to showcase your culinary talents! You are amazing with recipes and have such a passion for cooking. I wish I could have the passion for cooking, but I am definitely okay with tasting for you 😉
Congrats on your food blog, the recipes are looking delicious so far!! I’m looking forward to following it 🙂
Ever since our days of ice cream bowls (candy, ice cream, chocolate, marshmellows, etc.) in middle school- I have known you would be a food star.
    I love you
